Got these two lovely dresses yesterday for €15! Yeah. The two of them. Originally would have set me back €110 to buy both so excuse me for feeling slightly smug.
When i first got wind of the fact that Banana Republic were doing a Mad Men inspired line I’ll admit i was 100% skeptical, despite Janie Bryants involvement, but I gotta say I dont think its too shabby at all. These are probably my two favourite pieces, along with the Stefani sunglasses. I’ll admit the lack of hip friendly cuts and plunging necklines disappointed me a little and the pieces hang greatly on which colours are chosen…the above dress in the darker blue version looks incredibly mumsy. The knitwear is very cute and despite their Banana republic/gap/old navy ‘safe’ vibe, on the right person they could look pretty great. Overall though, i think its a fair effort for a first collaboration, and id like to see some more pieces in the future with some more room to show off the goods.
i hate the shoes in the first picture and the dress in the second picture so much i want reverse time and style this shoot myself.
